September 11, 2024, Qingdao Hisense Broadband Multimedia Technologies Co., Ltd (Hisense Broadband) announced the launch of 1.6T OSFP DR8 optical modules used to satisfy next-generation AI and cloud networks to meet the future demand for big data capacity expansion.
Hisense Broadband’s 1.6T OSFP packaged optical module adopts PAM4 modulation technology with an 8-channel x 106.25Gbaud optoelectronic signal, and developed with both SiPh and EML platforms. The SiPh platform adopts an ultrabroadband silicon photonics-integrated Mach-Zehnder modulator with the latest-generation high-power lasers. The EML platform utilizes a DSP built-in Driver paired with an ultra-high bandwidth EML laser.
The optical module adopts the latest OSFP packaging structure, the industry’s latest 5nm single-wave 200G DSP technology to compensate for optical and electrical signals, so as to obtain good link performance, and the various optoelectronic indicators to fully standardize the latest IEEE802.3dj. The operating temperature to support the requirements of the commercial level of 0 ~ 70 ℃, with a large wide bandwidth, low latency, low-power consumption and other characteristics.
