Hisense Broadband Launches Industry’s First 800G QSFP-DD BiDi SR4.2 Transceiver

San Jose, California, March 6, 2023— Hisense Broadband Multimedia Technology Co., Ltd. (“Hisense Broadband”) today announced the expansion of its market-leading high-speed short-reach product portfolio with the industry's first multimode 800Gb/s bidirectional (BiDi) optical transceiver. Based on 100Gb/s Ethernet MMF specifications, this QSFP-DD 800Gb/s SR4.2 transceiver supports 800Gbps over 100 m of multimode fiber via a dual-wavelength BiDi transmission. Breakout is enabled to 4x200G optics or 2x400G optics, creating 800G connections to meet increasing consumer data rate demands with a flexible architecture.

This 800G SR4.2 transceiver enables datacenter operators a seamless upgrade across multiple platforms and provides a cost-effective speed connection of next-generation data center servers and switches without changing existing fiber structure. The product meets the QSFP-DD MSA and Terabit BiDi MSA industry standards. Its case temperature meets the commercial requirements of 0~70°C, and the transceiver power consumption is less than 15W.

During the 2023 OFC, Hisense Broadband will perform a live booth demonstration of 800G QSFP-DD BiDi SR4.2 utilizing Broadcom chip sets (DSP BCM87800, VCSEL AFCD-V84LP (850nm), AFCD-V84LQ (908nm) & PIN BPD3058-4) and a high data rate (HDR) optimized multimode fiber engineered by Corning Incorporated for BiDi applications. This fiber has a higher specified EMB value than standard OM3 and OM4 fibers to cost-effectively support transmission distance reaches up to 100 m.

Hisense Broadband will also showcase its 800G series optical module solutions based on PAM4 technology at 2023 OFC, including 800G QSFP-DD SR8/AOC，800G OSFP SR8/AOC, 800G OSFP 2xFR4/DR8，and 800G QSFP-DD 2xFR4/DR8.
